When you are beginning your bridal journey, it is a very exciting time-after all your wedding dress will be the most important dress you are ever going to wear! Now there are a few different choices for you to consider first- would you like a designer bridal gown with the designer price tag or perhaps you would like made to order bridal dress- this is wedding dress ordered in your size which will probably require some kind of bridal alteration at an added cost to you. Alternatively you may decide that bespoke bridal is for you. After weighing up all your options you have opted to have a bespoke wedding dress. What Is A Bespoke Wedding Dress?


When you decide to go down the bespoke wedding dress route, you are essentially asking a designer/dressmaker to your personally design and create your bespoke bridal gown. You will have complete control over the whole process. Your dressmaker will discuss your overall vision for your wedding and listen to your ideas for your very own made to measure wedding dress. After an initial discussion, she will begin with some sketching and then you will start looking at fabrics for your beautiful dress- this is the hard part! There are so many beautiful fabrics to choose from it can make your decision extremely difficult. From stunning embroideries to fabulous chantilly laces, soft flowing tulles, crisp satins and amazing crepes and chiffons. There is an endless supply of wedding dress fabrics for you to choose from.

Your Bespoke Journey

Once you have commissioned your wedding dress, it will be put into your dressmaker/designers work schedule, approximately 6-8 months prior to your wedding date your measurements would be taken with your wedding underwear and work would commence on a toile- calico-cotton version of your dress design, this will be expertly fitted to your body shape. Once the alterations are done and a perfect fit is achieved your toile will then be used to make your very own pattern for your bridal gown and work will commence on your wedding dress. This is when you will get to try on you’re your bespoke wedding dress for the first time and make any small alterations or changes.

What Is The Cost Of A Bespoke Wedding Dress

A Bespoke bridal gown is a one-off individually designed dress which is handmade to fit your measurements.It will generally take between 6-9 months from start to finish. The cost is dependent on a number of factors, such as the design, fabric choice and any embellishments. Prices will differ between designers/dressmaker an average prices would around £1500-£3000 for a handcrafted bespoke bridal gown.

Our Bespoke prices have a starting cost of £1200- Remember when choosing to commission a bespoke gown is that you will not have the added cost of bridal alterations on top of the cost of your dress.
